Our MoS2 based coatings are commonly used in applications where load carrying capacity, operating temperature and coefficient of friction are primary concerns. MoS2 based coatings provide effective lubrication in a wide range of loads, in many cases exceeding 250,000 psi. MoS2 coatings lubricate sacrificially by transferring lubricant between the two mating surfaces, which helps to reduce the wear and the coefficient of friction. MoS2 coatings work very well in vacuum environments and are ideal for space and aeronautical related applications. MoS2 based coatings have limited color, decorative and corrosion resistance functionality. They do not perform very well in highly radioactive environments. Thermally cured products tend to provide the best overall performance.
