Atlanta, GA – September 23, 2003 – Everlube® Products has introduced its next-generation of environmentally friendly, water-based materials. These low volatile organic compounds (VOC), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), water-based products are ideal for high volume, commercial grade coating applications.
The new materials provide a more cost-effective, user-friendly application alternative to traditional solvent-based solid film lubricants (SFLs). These coatings do not require dilution and therefore achieve a higher percentage of solids in the applied coating, so they are able to provide faster coverage and improved productivity. Everlube® Products next-generation of water-based SFLs offer improved appearance and wetting properties, and are suitable for dip spin applications (unlike existing formulas).
Additionally, these products provide enhanced performance features compared to existing low VOC PTFE based coatings. Everlube® 9500, 9600 and 9800 offer increased salt spray protection, improved gloss and better solvent resistance to meet the most exacting industry performance requirements.
Everlube® 9500 and 9600 low VOC lubricants comply with the latest environmental regulations while approaching the performance levels of traditional solvent-based SFLs. Both the 9500 and 9600 lubricants provide excellent abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistance. They perform best in lighter load carrying applications, including locking mechanisms, pump and valve components, surgical devices and fasteners.
The 9800 is a thermally cured, low VOC barrier coating with an organic binder. It offers excellent abrasion, corrosion and chemical resistance. Designed for use in a variety of environments, these next-generation water-based coatings are ideal for use in pump assembly and valve body applications in petrochemical and chemical processing markets. The coatings can also serve as a primer offering enhanced versatility.
